Louise McCarron, a policewoman from Derry in Northern Ireland, won an episode of the Weakest Link in 2000.
Brainy Louise saw off seven other contestants to win The Weakest Link on BBC2 on Tuesday 29th August. Despite an £1,800 windfall however she was still left feeling just a little down in the dumps. For Louise, who is trained in the use of firearms, dropped a real clanger over a question about the world's most famous gun. She was asked by Anne Robinson: What type of gun is a Walther PPK? Louise replied: A rifle. She realised her mistake immediately as Anne explained it was a pistol a fact known to all James Bond fans. But Louise quickly stormed through the quickfire general knowledge quiz.
Louise, 35, admitted afterwards: "It's the most nerve wracking thing I've ever done."
