Heathrow is one of the world’s busiest airports, serving 185 destinations. The construction of the new Terminal 5 started in September 2002 and it was opened on 30 March 2008. The Baggage Handling System makes full use of Vanderlande’s unique highspeed system BAGTRAX to connect the different buildings and for the delivery of late baggage directly to the head of stands where the awaiting aircraft are parked.
