He had a staunch literary enemy in life and after his death: Jorge Luis Borges, under whose influence Adolfo Bioy Casares came to describe him as “the worst writer in the world…” In this report we review the tragic life and dazzling work of Horacio Quiroga, the Uruguayan storyteller who loved the jungle and described it with all its lights and shadows.
