William Goldman wrote The Princess Bride with his daughters in mind.

The story is a pure fairytale, with the sword fight scene, the battle of wits scene and characters Westley, Buttercup, Vizzini, Fezzik and Inigo Montoya going on to become iconic.

The movie was directed by Rob Reiner, with incredible performances from Carey Elwes, Robin Wright and Andre the Giant, but it all started with William Goldman.
