Many years ago, Michael Gerber stopped by to visit his brotherinlaw Ace, who owned a small advertising business in Silicon Valley. Ace asked him to visit one of his clients who was having a hard time converting his leads the agency was getting for him. Even though Michael told Ace he didn’t know anything about business, he was met with “Let’s see what happens” and thinking back, Michael’s whole life has now been built around that phrase.

So he went to visit his client, the client, Bob, believed Michael knew something about business. In fact, what he knew was selling systems. As he was listening to Bob, he realized that he didn’t know that selling was a system. Not only did the client not have a selling system, he didn’t have a system for doing all the essential things in his company.
