Today I want to talk about how simple a thermostat really is how the common and hot wire goes to a transformer, how you tie the white wire for the heat strip, connect the green wire which controls the indoor blower and the yellow wire (compressor) directly with each other from the thermostat in the event you have a an emergency where your thermostat goes bad, you can use the system in the heating cycle by tying the red wire, the yellow wire and the green wire together in an emergency situation or if the outdoor heat pump is not working you can tie together the white wire, the green wire, and the red wire. In the summertime for cooling you would tie the yellow wire, the red wire, and the Green wire together.
