Please use headphones! For all my videos, I put a ton of work into audio and music. I recently bought a Zoom F3 audio recorder, so you should notice higher clarity in the voiceover. I hope you enjoy the images, we spent 2 weeks in Japan and visited Toyko, Osaka, Fujisawa, Nagoya, Kyoto and Fukuoka. Fukuoka was our favorite.

Now about the lens. I misspoke in the video, the focus throw on this lens is indeed short but at 120 and not 270 degrees. As you can see from the fireworks scenes, with the metabones or finger adapters I’m unable to focus to infinity. Also, only the Metabones Speedbooster causes the bokeh to appear more lemony, otherwise the bokeh is very circular. Everything in Japan including the photos were shot full frame with the metabones speed booster and only the opening and ending were shot apsc with the Fringer adapter. Actually I don’t typically like filming wide open, I normally like f2.8 or f5.6 but the best character of this lens comes out at lower apertures. The reason for the premium on this lens is the performance wide open. Apart for some small vignetting and softness, the image is just as immaculate at f1.4. I prefer to film cropped with the Fringer and photography with the speed booster using this lens. Other small notes, the lens hood is reversible. The girth of this lens makes it so you may have some trouble attaching it to some sliders or tripods, particularly with the metabones adapter since it also adds some height.

BOTTOM LINE:
Finally, who is this lens for? This lens has a strong artistic look. Subjectively, im actually not so sure it would be suitable for all professional projects that may benefit more from a clinical or sharper look. The Otus has immense style and a look you might associate with Netflix or higher production pictures, but this might not be a universal look for some.
