We happened upon this cave by chance and we were awestruck at its appearance and history. Known to have history with the Quaker’s and the Underground Railroad. Suspected to be home to natives before that, Kincaid (Herman) Cave adds a rich history to the surrounding hills of this rural Ohio County. Kincaid Cave is neatly tucked away about a half an hour from Athens OHIO in the picturesque town of Chesterhill. It was used before the Civil War to usher escaped slaves to freedom
Farther north. If you ever have the chance, look this neat landmark up and take the drive to go see it. More info can be found @
