The year of Darkpaw is a big year for Everquest. It's the 25th Anniversary of Everquest and 20th anniversary for Everquest II. It's also the final year before we find out if work begins on Everquest 3 or if it will be canceled before the estimated start of 2025 per EG7.

But there's more to it. Everquest specifically is asking for your opinion with a survey, they're doing an AMA, they've added an anniversary zone in game and will be adding content to that zone every month throughout the year, but in the background they've made some major changes recently that may simply be future proofing Everquest or setting the game up for a brighter future. Specifically the port to DX11 and Windows 64 bit as well as hopefully finally migrating everything over to the new UI engine.
