Urumqi, Xinjiang, China Jack and Paige take on the North West region on China and explore deeper into the culture of this autonomous region. We start the day with chatting to some local girls before trying to check out the Mosque which was closed. We are invited into a local Neighbourhood, try Uyghur Sesame Naan and get a glimpse into the life of a everyday people. Outside the neighbourhood we find a fakes market and bargain for some North Face goods, before heading over to the Grand Bazaar. The local Livestreaming culture takes our interest and watch as people dress in traditional clothing on streams with magnificent setups. We enter the bazaar, which has a heavy military presence with guards and police at every station. While at the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar we come across a local festival, celebrating the coming together of Han and Uyghur communities. Next we head deep into the bazaar and go on a mini shopping spree trying local teas and fruits, Doppa hat and more. After a busy day we finally sit down to eat a spread of Xinjiang food, including local wine, Lamb BBQ skewers, horse meat alongside some menu recommendations.
