In this video, I’m in the Dominican Republic, trying to walk to one of the most dangerous spots in Santo Domingo. A man stopped me, warning I’d get robbed, but I kept going anyway.

I met a guy who led me to a sketchy spot where they were selling drugs, and they made it clear—no filming. We left with another dude, Eric, a drug addict who wanted to be on camera.

He smoked cr*ck in front of me, but despite his struggles, he had this wise, laidback vibe. Eric told me about his life, how he accidentally k*lled someone, ended up in La Victoria (one of DR's most dangerous prisons), and showed me the barrios he grew up in.

We talked about life, regrets, and even vibed over Bob Marley. Eric's story was deep, and he told me not to pity him because "That’s just life." It was a day spent seeing life through the eyes of someone who’s been through it all.
