The 2024 Volkswagen Touareg R uses a 250kW/335hp V6 engine plus a 100kW electric motor to give big hybrid power.

Rivals to the Touareg R include the BMW X5 xDrive50e and Porsche Cayenne EHybrid, plus the Mercedes GLE, Audi Q7 and Q8 and other luxury SUVs.

The 2024 Touareg lineup will be released in Australia in May 2024.
