In the last week, there was a major change at the Italian supervolcano known as Campi Flegrei which is just west of Naples. This change represented an 11 year deviation from previously normal activity, as volcanic uplift neared a crucial threshold. Meanwhile, in the Philippines, the Taal volcano produced a sudden uptick in sulfur dioxide emissions, suggesting that magma is once flowing into the volcano's magma chamber. And, at Mount Baker, a series of 2 suspicious earthquakes occurred just beneath the glacier covered stratovolcano's summit. This video will discuss these volcano related news stories, as told and analyzed by a volcanologist.
