If you saw the ted talk on tying your shoes the wrong way with a granny knot you are still only half way there. Now tie them so that they are more secure and won't come undone but are easier to untie than the double knot method. This is a good knot for running or hiking. You will never have to worry about tripping over your shoelaces. Also good if you have had a hip replacement, because you know that you will only have to tie your shoes once in the morning and they will stay secure all day.
