Tintagel. One of the biggest tourist traps in the UK?
The entire place lures tourists in with tales of the mythology king Arthur after the "Artognou stone" was found in the ruins.

It's a long story, but basically people were trying to prove that "King Arthur" was born here.

Since the excavations the area has been hinting a lot of folk lore to increase tourism. A modern 8 foot bronze sculpture was put in place in 2016 named "Gallos" but known as "King Arthur Statue"

There's also a bog standard cave which fills up during high tide and empties out during low tide. It's named... "Merlin's cave"... They recently cut a small face into the stone and now it's "Melin"... There's nothing special about this small cave.

In short the entire place is made famous by myths.
Apart from the outrageous prices to cross the bridge and if you ignore all the King Arthur stuff it's a lovely coastal walk. Though you can have a lovely coastal walk in hundreds of other spots within Cornwall with no tourists. But hey, people go to these places for selfies just to say they've been there. That's life these days. Stupidity at its finest.
