Bing and Bong encounter three Cool Flockers, who are preparing for a jam session. Wanting very much to be included, they try to join in the music by singing, but the noises they make are so awful that the Flockers run away. Bing and Bong become frustrated, until Bong spots a solution: a tuba! But when they try to play the instrument, they can only manage one flat note. Discouraged again, they are ready to give up when Bing notices the finger stops. With Bong blowing and Bing pushing the stops, the two collaborate to produce several varied notes. The Cool Flockers, impressed by the music, return, and all five jam together.
