Pastor Chris Hodges shared Part 2 of, “I Have Decided,” a series designed to help us discover all
that God has for us and go deeper in our walk with God. Growing in our relationship with God isn’t just about what’s ahead of us, it’s also about what’s behind us. A lot of us have an addiction, habit, attitude, or emotion that is dominating our lives, and it’s time for that to end. Jesus came to set us free, and today we can make decisions that will help us be free indeed! Proverbs 28:13 (NIV) says, “Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.” There are two places we must confess in order for things to change in our lives. We must go to God for forgiveness, but we have to go to God’s people for healing. We need to take both steps to be truly freed from sin or bondage. Confessing our sins to others is why small groups and godly relationships are so important. When we get close to people, we let them into our lives, have accountability, and can open up about the areas in our lives that need healing. Today, let’s study what’s called the Johari Window to understand four aspects of our lives and how they’re connected to our freedom.
