A day of exploring in Tomar, Portugal. Tomar is one of the top destinations to visit in Portugal and it is famous for the Convent of Christ (Convento de Cristo), which is one of the finest national monuments in Portugal. Tomar was the religious home of the Knights Templar (11191312) and later the Order of Christ (13191834). So it was originally a 12thcentury Templar stronghold that was turned into the Knights of the Order of Christ in the 14 century.
