বর্তমান সময়ে বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষার হার দিন দিন বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে। আর এরই সাথে শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠানগুলোর গুনগতমান ও আনুষঙ্গিক কার্যক্রম সবকিছুই বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে দিন দিন।
বাংলাদেশের শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান নিয়ে কথা আসলে পাবলিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়গুলোর কথা না বললেই নয়।
বর্তমানে বাংলাদেশের পাবলিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সংখ্যা 49 টি যার মধ্যে চালু রয়েছে 45 টি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।
