This video shows the Top 15 countries with highest GDP PPP from year 1 to 2020 based on 2011 international dollars till the year 2011 and as per the dollar value of the respective years after 2011. It gives a brief history of the world since the the 1st millennium. China and India were ahead before the 1900s while the US started leading after the 20th century.

Purchasing power parity (PPP) is a neoclassical economic theory that states that the exchange rate between two countries is equal to the ratio of the currencies' respective purchasing power.

Disclaimer The data in this video MAY NOT be accurate as they are just estimates based on various historical development and events of our civilizations.

The data in this video is taken from the ANGUS MADDISION PROJECT which is a historical statistical work by Angus Maddison.
Angus Maddison (6 December 1926 – 24 April 2010) was a noted British economist specialising in quantitative macro economic history, including the measurement and analysis of economic growth and development. He was Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Groningen.

METHODOLOGY OF GATHERING AND SYNTHESIS OF DATA IN THIS VIDEO
As mentioned above that this video is based upon the research work of ANGUS MADDISION but his research papers also don't show an year on year GDP figure for all the countries before 1820, example He mentioned the GDP PPP per capita of India in year 1AD and in year 1000AD but not inbetween, so in that case, I had to do a lot of research work about it's history (that's why it took me more than 1 month to make it) and than based around it, I try to estimate what it's GDP PPP could be(spoiler alert: back than GDP per capita grew like super slow) by taking MADDISON'S estimates on either side as reference and than multiplying it by it's estimated population at that time. Now, in some cases I can't find any proper historical information on given country in any given year,so there it's data is interpolated.
So this is the method that I used to make the entire GDP estimate video.
As the world was largely agragarian back then so this methodology is quite solid.
Population estimates are taken from HYDE

FAQs

Why there are Countries in this data before they even formed?

Ans. This data is based on the present day boundaries of the Countries and the estimated economy of that region through out history is taken here.

There were no proper data on Russia, Indonesia, Brazil,Mexico, for most of this video, so take their numbers with a pinch of salt.
