This will help to prevent scalp marks or scalping when mowing reel short with a reel mower. It is very important to top dress and level your lawn to have a flat smooth yard if you want to mow grass short with a reel mower. Ideally, the yard would have been perfectly level before the bermuda grass sod was laid down, but topdress topdressing is the next best thing to get rid of the uneven lawn.
