This one was actually a doozy.

There were lots of things that I was thinking about pretty far into this drawing that I felt would be a bummer if I abandoned this and started over. One of those things was the action that the pose was suggesting. I wanted it to look as though she was coming down into this position from an outstretched sort of standing position, much like that scene in ATLA when she made the stairs from the king’s palace into a slide, like that!

Her leg here was stretched out as if it was sliding out as she came down into this hunch. I tried suggesting the motion with her clothes especially as it flies in the opposite direction that her force is going towards, her sleeves on her arms go up as she comes down, like that!

Speaking of her clothes, I struggled a lot with trying to figure out if her belt thing would be visible in this pose, ultimately of course I figured her clothes would just fold over it. This drawing is really busy looking, and I feel like if I did it again I could maybe make it a bit more streamlined, buuuut here we are, lads and lassies.
