Tower crane #1 arises: One-week construction time-lapse with many closeups (Ⓗ Week 31)

Follow
Hospital Construction

This week we see the first of the tower cranes arise, and we see some guys who definitely don't have any fear of heights, even when working high up on the crane after dark with no lights! When they're done, the crane may look complete, but it will actually be raised even higher next week — we'll see how they achieve that in next week's timelapse.

There are also other "bonus" highlights/closeups throughout, including concrete pours and other cranes hoisting things. This week has so many closeups it sets a new record for far and away the longest of the weekly timelapses so far, with the most closeups.

There's one place where I got the assembly of the crane slightly out of order, d'oh! Oh well, I noticed after it was too late to change it without a lot of work, so I left it. We'll see how many notice...

In this "Ⓗ series", we're following the construction of a new 12story hospital that will occupy an entire city block in San Francisco. This is a construction timelapse at 900x, with numerous "bonus" highlights/closeups scattered throughout at various speeds from actual speed up to 200x. Compresses the 6day period from January 26 31, 2015 (Week 31) into about 31 minutes. Nighttimes and nonworking days are omitted.
