If you remember the days when the video game section started to look more like a toy store, then you were probably a gamer during the toys to life craze of the 2010s. Toys to life games took over the gaming world seemingly overnight with Skylanders, Disney Infinity, Amiibo, LEGO Dimensions, and Starlink: Battle for Atlus. And then they were gone just as fast as they appeared. It was a fall off so drastic and sudden, that it almost seems impossible. Let’s take a look back at the history of the toy to life genre to see what went wrong.
