I'm making this edit to source alternate LEDs. I have not had a chance to personally test the Adafriut LEDs, but according to the data sheet they should be as good or better than the ones I use in the video. They are also prime on Amazon if that matters to anyone. I also threw in a couple links to data sheets so that those that want a look don't have to hunt them down.
Edit: 3/14/2019:
Adding a download link containing the 3d printable model whole within the blender file, and sliced for use within a .stl file. It's a very spartan model, but is quite functional with a little cleanup. This is just for anyone who wants a reference model or an easy starting point.
