Train With 3 Locomotives Crosses A Gigantic Railroad Bridge! The Iowa Interstate Railroad Train Goes Over The Flooded Mississippi River On A 130 Year Old Government Bridge Or Arsenal Bridge. The Railroad Tracks Are On Top & A Road Goes Under Them On The Lower Level! A Canadian Pacific Railway Train, Now CPKC, Goes Under The Bridge & We See The Bridge And Builders Plate Up Close.
The Mississippi River Is Up Due To Recent Rains and roads are flooded near here. Look how wide the river is! I wanted to film the bridge for a video and I got lucky when an Iowa Interstate Railroad train passed over it from Davenport, Iowa to Rock Island, Illinois. The bridge goes to the Rock Island Arsenal which is a military island. I rode a steam train ( #4449 ) over this bridge years before I started my channel. The bridge has road traffic on the bottom level and 2 railroad tracks on the top level.
Right after I filmed the train I ran into YouTuber @Jason Asselin. We filmed the bridge which is very interesting. When we were filming it a Canadian Pacific Kansas City ( CPKC ) train ran under us as it was heading south down the river banks. This train came off the spur that enters the main line at East Davenport. I saw this train sitting on the curved bridge earlier waiting to enter the main line. I was really lucky to get this train because the industrial spur that the train came off of only has a few customers including the Davenport Industrial Railroad. The line was recently extended several miles. See Google Maps.
Both trains were lucky catches. I came here to film the steam locomotive called The Empress. I got these freight trains and some other freight trains that will be posted soon. I will post a lot of coverage of the steam train so check back often.
