Her owner, airport volunteer Liz Miller, said she asked herself one day "why aren't we putting Casey and me on the concourse and touching people in a positive way?"

Airport directors obliged, and after a few practice runs, Miller took Casey on a walk through Concourse E for her official Valentine's Day debut Tuesday.

On her way to St. Thomas, Cindy Pickering first thought Casey was a service dog.

"I wanted to rub her but I didn't know if I was allowed," said Pickering. "This is more welcoming coming to Miami than I anticipated."

Casey also took petting from a 15monthold Lithuanian boy and shared a few licks with a fourmonthold girl.

"Say hi," Dallas native Ben Winski told his infant daughter Avia, as he held her up for a sloppy greeting.

Casey's greeting schedule is Mondays and Thursdays, and paws into social media in her free time. Miller is working on Casey's Facebook and Twitter pages. (NBC6)
