Trains at Mile End - Adelaide Metro

In this video we take a visit to Mile End, a small station just outside of Adelaide city on the Seaford/Tonsley and Belair lines. Here we see a couple of Adelaide Metro 3000/3100 Class DMU's on the Belair line, and 4000 Class EMU's on the Seaford/Tonsley line. Some of the Seaford line services run express through here. We also see a Pacific National freight train led by NR119 & NR115.

Mile End station opened in 1898, although it doesn't look like it's changed much over the years. Although Adelaide has a number of basic railway stations; I consider Mile End to be one of the worst I visited while in Adelaide. My complaints include:

1. The underpass has steep ramps and smells like piss.
2. The platforms are narrow, making it hard for wheelchair users to navigate.
3. Small dated shelters and a general lack of furniture.
4.No CCTV or emergency help points
5. A lack of signage and passenger information. There are no passenger information displays or even a printed timetable! This is especially crucial at this station as for whatever reason every second or third Seaford line departs from different platforms. While I was filming some passengers missed two subsequent Seaford line trains after they departed from different platforms. They only made the third train after the train driver was kind enough to wait for them.

In my opinion this station needs an upgrade.
