Talk’s Kevin O’Sullivan and royal commentator Kinsey Schofield discuss the controversy surrounding Prince Harry being honoured with the Pat Tillman award.

The Duke of Sussex is set to collect his award on Thursday, being honoured for his service and using his platform to “change the world” at this year’s ESPY awards in the US.

The Pat Tillman Award for Service is named after former NFL player and US Army Ranger Pat Tillman, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2004.

The mother of Pat Tillman is unhappy with ESPN’s decision to give the award that bears her son’s name to Prince Harry, a “controversial and divisive figure”.

A former Royal Navy chief has urged the Prince to turn the award down and said it doesn’t sit well with people in the military.
