On Saturday, March 7th, 2020, the steam locomotive E987 was transported from Bramming to Gedser.
The transfer was arranged by the preservation society Veterantog Vest, which provided the dieselelectric MT152 to pull E987 to her new home.
Before the transfer, a test was conducted between Tønder and Bramming, to ensure the locomotive was fit for the journey to Falster.

Originally built in Sweden and known as F class locomotives, the class hauled heavy express passenger and freight services until the mid 1930’s, by which point most Swedish mainlines had been electrified. In 1937, DSB purchased all 11 of the 24yearold locomotives and reclassified them as E class.
E987 was among a batch of 25 brand new locomotives ordered by DSB from the locomotive builders at Frichs Maskinfabrik in Aarhus and constructed there 19421950. After 22 years in service, E987 hauled the last regular steamhauled service for DSB on the 15th of May, 1970.
Since then, efforts have been underway to restore the locomotive to working order, resulting in a number of moves around the country.
