I was thinking about how salt water can damage outboard engines and boats. Outboards and boats that are only used in fresh water have less corrosion issues. Which got me thinking about where to go to GUARANTEE that a 60 year old 2 stroke outboard motor would have only been used in fresh water? Nebraska! Nebraska is in the middle of the USA and very far from any salt water.

In this video I fly from Maryland to Nebraska to buy a 1958 Johnson Sea Horse 3 outboard engine for $300. This old 3 horsepower, two stroke outboard motor looks really cool, it runs, and the seller was super helpful by doing some additional work on the engine so that I can try it out right away. So then I just have to drive the 1,250 mile road trip to bring this old 2 stroke outboard home! I ultimately mix up some fresh fuel and try this old two stroke motor on my 14 foot aluminum boat.
