Info on this video:

WARNING! In this video I was experimenting with an 'action camera' to record the footage of the actual painting.
Some other footage was taken on my mobile phone and a couple of other bits on a third camera. I hope you may enjoy the result, although I am aware that to watch the whole thing in one go can make one feel a bit sea sick or 'swimmy' (an expression I've heard that appealed to me), despite lots of Image Stabilisation.
Also, the action camera does unfortunately mist up a bit, though it gets a bit better again by the end.
If the viewer can forgive these obvious imperfections then the video may still serve as an introduction to (my approach to) plein air painting, which is my preferred way of working. Integral is that I always complete the entirety of the painting in front of the subject and never modify the painting later in the studio. It's driven by the inspiration of my surroundings, and as spontaneous as possible. It's therefore a record of an experience, and when it's done it's done. For the resulting paintings some succeed in some ways, others don't so much.
