"The Circle of Fourths" is one of the most common sounds we encounter as trombonists. In this video I demonstrate five exercises to help you navigate your way through the circle of fourths. The first three exercises are based around the triad. I’ll illustrate how halfstep movements can help you to transition fluidly through different keys. I also demonstrate the use of halfsteps in the circle of fourths while outlining dominant 7th chords. These exercises can be used as the foundation to helping you become more familiar with both the sound and execution of the circle of fourths.
