This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, stepbystep instructions on how to create this summer oceanic image of "Tropical Window". Imagine yourself hiding away in this secluded oasis, smelling the warm summer breeze and listening to the waves crashing on the sandy beach. Using only 3 brushes and 6 colors we'll create a serene ocean landscape with sunshine highlighting the horizon, gentle clouds drifting by and textured beach sand. MATERIALS:
Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
Brushes: 1/2 inch bristle, #6 to #8 round brush, #1 round
Acrylic Paint: titanium white, mars black, cobalt blue, burnt umber (brown), deep yellow, green oxide
Other: palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEPS:
1. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint sky with blue and white
2. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint water with blue and white
3. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint beach sand with white, brown, blue and yellow
4. #6 to #8 round brush Paint tree trunk with black, brown and white
5. #6 to #8 round brush Paint palm fronds with brown, green, yellow and white
6. #6 to #8 round brush Paint first layer of window with white and brown
7. #1 round brush Paint the birds with brown and white
8. #1 round brush Paint shadows and highlights on windows with brown and white
9. #1 round brush Paint the handles with brown and white
10. 1/2 inch bristle brush Paint the glare on windows with white
11. #1 round brush Signature with brown
