A child of the Great Depression, Cathy developed his business sense at a young age, selling CocaColas and newspapers. He started his first restaurant, The Dwarf Grill, after World War Two and began the ChickfilA chain in 1967, specializing in his own invention the chicken sandwich. Today there are more than 1,250 ChickfilAs around the country. A devout Christian, Cathy has always believed in ethics in business, the importance of family and in giving back.
