Armed with only RM10 in his pocket, Teong Hin made the decision to move to Kuala Lumpur after he was expelled from NUS, Singapore. That would be the start of his success in the creative industry, and subsequently, filmmaking. Saw Teong Hin is a multiple awardwinning writer, producer and director for film, tv and theatre. Teong Hin’s directorial debut, “Puteri Gunung Ledang” (2004), is the first Malaysian submission for the Academy Awards and the first Malaysian film invited to the Venice International Film Festival. His company, Real Films, produced the Sudirmantribute musical film, “Hoore! Hoore!” (2012), the Penang Hokkien film, “You Mean The World To Me” (2017).
