Ttube nursing care review about the nurse's role regarding the care of the biliary drain.
A ttube is placed in the common bile duct to help drain bile from the liver.
It is sometimes placed after a cholecystectomy, common bile duct (CBD) exploration, or liver transplant.
It will serve as a drain to drain excessive bile from the liver until the common bile duct is healed.
It can also be used for testing where dye is injected into the ttube and an xray is taken (cholangiogram) to assess the biliary tree and duct (see the picture in the video to see this example).
