Tu154M deep modernization of Tu154B2. Equipped with more economical Solovyov D30KU154II turbofan engines. Coupled with improvements in the aerodynamic properties of the wing and fuselage, this provided a significant increase in fuel efficiency (by 30%) and made it possible to significantly increase the flight range. The threeslot flaps were replaced with twoslot flaps, but more efficient (the third flap link was made integral with the second and the maximum deflection angle was increased). A new 36degree flap down position has been added to reduce landing noise. Production of this modification continued until 2012.
