After hearing that Istanbul's current airport Ataturk is soon to be closed for the opening of the cities brand new airport, which lies on a new site to the North East of the city I decided that I needed to go back to some planespotting before it goes anywhere. So I headed off to Istanbul on this flight!
Turkish Airlines' first flight of the morning from Heathrow, TK1988 which departs at 7:15, the aircraft having spent the night in London, arriving the previous evening.
No complaints from me about Turkish. For a short 3 hour flight, got a meal, full working IFE system on every seat and even proper metal cutlery even in economy. Not bad going at all, especially for a single isle, A321 and a short haul flight! Very good going.

Unfortunately with the aircraft having spent the night at chilly Heathrow, the windows were covered in condensation on the ground in London. However once we'd commenced the take off roll the water didn't hang around for long, creating some beautiful morning views over the city as we climb east out of Heathrow and break through the early mist.

As always by Full Flight I don't mean literally 4 hours of video. I mean that this video includes every stage of the flight.

Look out for all the planespotting videos from Istanbul Ataturk!
