Turkish FM Urges Turkic States To Speak Out Against Israel

Defying the International Criminal Court's order to end its military offensive in Rafah, Israel's attacks are continuing unabated. The latest strike on a camp for displaced Palestinians in Rafah has killed at least 45 people. International condemnation has been swift, and follows last week's moves by Norway, Ireland and Spain to formally recognise Palestine as a state. Turkiye has long called for that recognition, as its top officials also recently urged Turkic states to have a united voice against Israel.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus told a visiting delegation of the Organisatin of Turkic States, that the group will become a key player in a future multipolar world. And Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan called on Turkic leaders to take more concrete steps to end Israel's oppression. On Sunday, as Israel launched its latest attacks on Rafah, Fidan was in Brussels to hold talks on the Palestinian issue. He warned, after his meetings, that failing to grant recognition to Palestine would deepen the current crisis and potentially lead to its collapse.
