Tutorial: Sew Pediatric Port Shirts for Chemotherapy - new technique

Hello Shiny Crafty People and welcome back!

Last year I made a tutorial for port access shirts for people undergoing chemotherapy. The video was wellreceived and I thought I was done. Here's a link to that video if you want to see it:    • GIVE BACK CRAFT: Make a Port Access T...

Then a local friend asked me where to get some shirts made for a young child who is battling cancer and we couldn't find anyone. So I said I would do them. And in the process, I found a better way to do them, so I broke out the camera and decided to update the tutorial!

Here's a new version that takes the zipper all the way down to the side seam of the garment. If you are doing adult shirts and there is no side seam, just create one!

For some reason, port access shirts aren't readily available and so quite a few patients have to resort to being uncomfortable or wear a makeshift outfit to have access to their port during chemo but also try to stay warm.

If you get the chance, you should make a few of these for people who need them. It would be a lovely way to help out someone who is in a rough spot.

Until next time, Stay Crafty! Bye for now!
