Two 1916 F.E.2b fighter/bombers

This video shows The Vintage Aviator's two Royal Aircraft Factory F.E. 2b aircraft reproductions in the air together for the first time, having just taken off after sunset.

The early model F.E.2b (circa 1916) fighter version ('The Scotch Express') forms up with the late model (circa 1918) F.E.2b night bomber 'Jess'. This is the first time since the FE.2s were retired at the end of the First World War that two of these aircraft have been seen in the air together.

Note that this video was shot after sunset, which is why the footage is a little grainy and noisey, and not as sharp as might be normally expected.
