Alphagal syndrome (AGS) is an allergy to mammalian meat and meat byproducts that is spread by the Lone Star tick. It's often misdiagnosed, with symptoms ranging from severe stomach pain and brain fog to anaphylactic shock. Perhaps even more than Lyme disease, there's a lack of awareness and support for those with AGS. Sometimes it can take 10 years or more before it's properly diagnosed! But thanks to Candice Matthis and Debbie Nicols, the Two Alpha Gals, help is on the way! Their message is focused on the importance of social connection and community to help overcome the mental, emotional and physical challenges faced by alphagal sufferers.
