* Conventional vasectomy

Conventional Vasectomy To enter the vas deferens, one or two minor cuts are made in the scrotum's tissue. A small piece of the vas deferens can be removed, leaving a short gap between the two ends. The doctor may then cut the ends of the vas and bind them together or insert tissue between them. These steps are then repeated on the other vas, either with the same or a different cut. Dissolvable stitches can be used to close the scrotal wounds, or they can be left to heal on their own.

Noscalpel Vasectomy The surgeon searches for the vas under the skin of the scrotum and keeps it in place with a small clamp during a noscalpel vasectomy. The vas deferens is slowly lifted out through a tiny hole in the skin that is stretched open. It's then sliced, bound, or seared, and reattached.

Advantages of noscalpel vasectomy over conventional vasectomy
• Lesser pain owing to smaller incision
• No stitch is required as the tiny cut heals by itself
