With the launch of Star Wars Outlaws on August 30th, 2024; a lot was riding on this game. Ubisoft touted it as their game with the largest marketing budget investment backing it. It's also carrying the Star Wars Brand, which, as of late does not indicate profitability. And of course, there's the fact that this is an Ubisoft game and that comes with a lot of baggage and drama on its own. Outlaws hit the market and quickly gained the ire of fans who were unsatisfied with the a buggy, ugly stealth game when they were promised a Han Solo Grand Theft Auto. As information rolls in about poor sales results, and a stock price rapidly diminishing, we have to ask: Did Star Wars just kill Ubisoft?
