UPDATE:
I found this a day later on twitter, it's possible that bright orange object seen over the UK and Spain at about 01400200 UTC was the CZ4BY37 rocket stage from September's Chinese GF1102 launch, which is a few hours from reentry in a 165 x 195 km orbit.
A few hours after this was found on twitter another tweet was posted announcing that this part had reentered the atmosphere

While outside at around midnight on new years eve 2020 myself and many people around the UK and Europe spotted a strange orange glowing object passing overhead which many at 1st thought was a firework, drone or Chinese lantern.
I happen to be filming a night lapse with my gopro hero 8 black which was taking a 15 second exposure and captured the object.
This was in my back garden which is south facing.
