As restrictions on travel continue to lift, I took the opportunity in August to fly with SHETLAND ISLANDS INTER ISLAND AIR SERVICE on their Britten Norman Islander GSICA from Lerwick Tingwall Airport on a short 20minute flight across to the Island of Foula.
With a population of only 35 people, Foula is certainly a very rural location.
The flight cost around £60 and is largely subsidized by the Scottish government.
Sadly I was requested by the airline (weirdly) to not film my landing or departing, but that any other part of the flight was absolutely fine (which was bizarre as Air Task safety video before your flight encourages passengers to take photos).
Still, respecting this request I have omitted the landing and takeoff portions of this flight to keep everyone happy.
The flight was an amazing experience and one I would recommend for anyone to do when they get the opportunity.
