On this trip I take the Umbagog water shuttle (extra fee) out to my campsite because I wasn't sure how my knee would feel, as it is recovering from a hiking injury sustained in early June.

Lake Umbagog State Park also has car camping and leantos at their base camp.
You can rent a kayak or canoe. They also have a few cabins out on the lake.
