Huawei has been making strides in the smart automotive sector for over 30 years, introducing distributed operating systems like HarmonyOS, AOS, and VOS, all independently developed and controlled. Huawei leads the industry in smart cockpits, intelligent driving, smart vehicle control, and intelligent connectivity. A noteworthy feature of the AITO M9 is its solar panels mounted on the roof and hood, adding approximately 20 kilometers of range daily on sunny days. This feature highlights the potential for solar power as an auxiliary source to extend the driving range of electric vehicles.

The feasibility of massproducing solarpowered cars remains debated. Companies like the Dutch firm Lightyear have introduced solar cars like the Lightyear 0, although production challenges and high costs have limited their success. Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck and other models like XPeng's P5 are exploring solar technology to enhance vehicle range. Geely and other manufacturers are also investing in solar vehicle technologies, recognizing their potential in specific markets, particularly for longdistance travel and outdoor activities.
