The charming Uncle Wiggily stories were a great hit a century ago, but you don't hear so much about them any more.
As with most successful characters from children's stories, there was a board game (actually a few). The age of licensed toys helped to immortalize many cartoon characters (you know who I mean) and Uncle Wiggily was in the race as well.
The game wasn't anything revolutionary just another race game with carddriven movement and the usual hazards and shortcuts. But it did manage to survive over a century on the toy store shelves. Since the first release by Milton Bradley in 1916 to the current version from Winning Moves, Uncle Wiggily remains an icon of the industry.
